It’s from Star Trek: Into Darkness. The Enterprise is being chased by a much faster ship and is forced out of the warp drive “tunnel” by said faster (and larger) ship. The .gif also doesn’t show the larger ship shooting at the Enterprise immediately afterwards.

So did Nibbles enter Kinja and begin his path to destruction all over again? Did Nibbles just evolve? Nibble’d became Kinja’d I guess.

Yeah there just isn't enough carnage/ failure in this exact clip

It makes sense if you've seen the movie, but it probably would've been better to show the Enterprise being shot at.

No. This is the seen when they’re forcibly dropped out of warp near Kronos before USS Vengeneance even shows up. Engineering manually dropped them out of warp.

Context is needed

I think I might be misremembering (or just describing it incorrectly), but I definitely remember it from Into Darkness.

Nibbles was the source of all our Jalopnik troubles for many years, we’d say oh nibbled again! Jalopnik went through a million redesigns over the years before Kinja. And it ALWAYS had issues. $kay was there through it all, Spiegel has been around a few times.

Warp drive’s don’t produce tunnels. The theory is that it changes the actual mass of space-time in front and behind the ship, and the intervening force of space-time trying to correct the imbalance forces a small bubble of space (the warp bubble they always talk about) to travel at a speed that is faster than the speed of light relative to the normal density universe. The trick here is that the bubble itself relative to the changed density space-time is not traveling faster than c, and so not violating the laws of physics.

Both scenes are from Into Darkness.

I couldn't really think of a good word to describe it, and the way it's represented in the movie makes it look like a tunnel.

I know. I was just being super nerdy. I know I’m an idiot sometimes...
